Malcolm Mason is Professor of Clinical Oncology at Cardiff University, UK. He is a clinical researcher with a special interest in urological cancers, especially prostate cancers. He was the Chairman of the UK's Prostate Cancer Clinical Studies Group from 2009 to 2015, for the National Cancer Research Institute. He was the Chief Investigator for the UK on several practice-changing trials, including the intergroup NCIC PR3/MRC PR07 trial which established the role of radiotherapy in locally advanced prostate cancer. He is the study vice-chair for the MRC STAMPEDE study which has led to a change in practice for newly diagnosed M1 prostate cancer patients. He is also the founder and Director of the Wales Cancer Bank, which was the UKs first national tumour bank. He is also a member of the Core Group for the UICC TNM project.
